There is no meme today to save you from a pointless and rambling post. Bwahahahaha!
I’m in a good mood today because I took the day off from work. Amazing how being away helps the attitude, isn’t it? I took the day off because my Bookman’s birthday is Monday and so we are having a birthday weekend celebration. One portion of the celebration was going to see the Simpsons Movie. It was quite enjoyable. Just like the television show except longer, only it didn’t feel long at all. And of course there were some great political jokes along with just plain silliness.
This evening we will be visiting Barnes and Noble for a mocha and some browsing. I am not planning on buying anything, it’s not my birthday after all. Do you think I will make it out with no books of my own? That’s my plan. I think there is also a plan in the making to visit Half Price Books tomorrow. So if I leave the bookstore bookless tonight, I doubt I will survive the ordeal of doing the same a second time.
There are other events in the works as well cake (chocolate of course! Sometimes I think my Bookman likes chocolate more than I do.) and carefully selected mostly book-shaped presents for him from his dear wife (that’s me in case you had any doubts). Somewhere amidst the celebrating I will find time for Emerson. I skipped him last week because of Harry Potter. If I skip him again I might begin to suffer from withdrawal and who knows what stupid things I might do then.
And now, because I haven’t posted a picture of the kittens in a couple of weeks, here they are in all their just-over-three-months-old cuteness:
Have a good weekend!

Have a wonderful celebratory weekend! Do tell us if you make it out of the bookstores without buying anything, and let us know how you did it …
Happy Birthday Bookman!
Awwww! That’s a Cute Overload-worthy picture. The kittens are adowable. Hope your Bookman has a great birthday! (You’re not making it out of that store without buying anything, who are you trying to kid.)
What a marvelous basket of kittens! I hope your weekend is a great one, and that Bookman has a very happy birthday!
Happy Birthday to Bookman! Did you make it out of B & N last night with no books? If so, good for you. Those kittens are too adorable for words. (Have you noticed my shameful habit of commenting most on your posts when you include pictures of the “children?”)
Aww….so sweet, the kitties. Their fur are growing out nicely. Not quite as furballsy as previously.
Happy Birthday to your Bookman. That makes him a Leo.
I too, as Emily asks, am interested in knowing if you made it out of EITHER store without a batch of books!
I am thinking…. “NO!” You bought a bunch. Am I right?
And those kittens are as cute as ever. You are making me miss Jack! I have been away from him for over a week now!

And now we need a picture of the birthday books! And a picture of the kittens playing on/with/about the birthday books.
Happy birthday to your bookman! But I worry about you trying to do bookstores without buying anything; I can’t think that’s good for a person. You might get hurt, wrestling those books off you as you head for the doors
My boys have just seen the Simpsons movie and they liked it a lot. That’s to say, they keep quoting bits at me!
My Bookman is surprised and delighted by all the birthday wishes and says thank you to all of you.
Dorothy, I did not make it out of the bookstores without something for myself. But that’s not too shocking
Thanks Imani. Yeah, I know, I was deluded about not buying anything at the bookstore.
Thanks Geekgirl!
Emily, you crack me up! And I think the books must have followed me home from the store because I’m sure I didn’t buy any. Ha!
Dark Orpheus, the kittens are losing their fuzziness. And yes, my Bookman is a Leo. I’m an Aries so we are well matched.
Yup Cip, you are right on the money! I’m a book magnet. I’m sure jack is missing you too while you are away. I hope you locked up the booze and told him no parties.
Susan, you are so good at egging me on!
Litlove, you’re right, I had to buy some books, it was self-defense. Or self-preservation. Leaving without a few books would have caused a psychotic break and that’s be no good at all. Have your boys sung you the spider-pig song? I can’t get it out of my head.
Hope your Bookman is having a nice birthday–sounds like the weekend celebrations were lots of fun! Did you manage to not buy any books? It’s rare that I can go into a bookstore and not buy anything, which is why I have been trying to stay far away from them! Very cute kitties–they are getting big aren’t they!
Thanks Danielle! the bookstore won. And I can hardly believe how big the kittens have gotten already. The babies grow up so fast, sniff.
Cuteness! I have two black brother kittens/now cats; cats and books most definitely go together.
