It was a crazy busy holiday season weekend. There was grocery shopping to get all the ingredients for our Solstice dinner on the 21st. There was dancing. There was a holiday party to which we contributed homemade vegan brownies with chocolate peppermint frosting (the delicious recipe can be found in the How it All Vegan cookbook). There were holiday cards to write. And there are still a few more holiday cards to write. And there were boxes to pack up to send to family in California, Nevada, and New Mexico. Whew! I’m tired. I need a weekend.
I am almost finished reading Valerie Martin’s Trespass. I’m really enjoying it. I should be able to tell you about it in a day or two. Right now I have to go finish those holiday cards and ogle the book-shaped presents with my name on them! But if your holiday shopping isn’t done yet or you want to get yourself a little somethin’ check out these bookish t-shirts from Threadless. I think I like the movie one best.
And I almost forgot to mention. I got an “A” in my first class in my first quarter of library school. Woo hoo!

Hey, well done! An “A” for your first class. The first of many to come, I expect ;p
Well done! And the “last checked out” t-shirt appeals to me as a 30-something single.
Well done! I love that t-shirt and after watching “Cranford” (BBC TV) I agree. If I’ve read a book I don’t want to watch a movie, it’s never the same!
Congrats on that A–that’s great. It’s always nice to be rewarded for hard work. I totally understand the busy-ness of the weekend–mine was much the same (only no dancing!:) ). By any chance do you have Quillhill’s email address? There are two new people who’d like to join the Slaves Blog. It looks like he doesn’t have his email listed on his blog. Or does anyone else in the group have the ability to send out invites to the Blogger group? Thanks.
Dark Orpheus, I sure hope so!
Sylvia, thanks. Heh, I liked the last checked out one almost as much as I liked the movie one.
Booksplease, Thanks! Even when the movie is well done, the book is never the same afterwards.
Danielle, Thanks! You should try adding some dancing into the mix
Yay for the A! Why am I not surprised? Great work. And those brownies sound luscious…I love the combination of pepper mint and chocolate during the holidays.
Congrats on the A — and like Courtney, I’m not surprised at all!
Way to go, Stefanie!
Congratulations on the ‘A’! Judging from what I’ve read on your blog, it doesn’t surprise me either . . . and chocolate peppermint frosting on brownies?! Must track down that cookbook.
Congrats on the great grade! Now for some well-earned relaxation!
Congrats on your A! I hope you are still celebrating
I got the Poet Tree tshirt as a birthday gift this year – it’s one of my faves. I really like the movie one. Hmm, I could use a gift to myself. ha,ha.
Courtney, thanks. I love chocolate and peppermint during the holidays too. Not so much the rest of the year, but somehow December demands it.
Thanks Dorothy and Susan!
Inkslinger, thank you. It’s a good cookbook. Lots of easy and yummy things in it.
Ted, thanks!
Iliana, thanks. I knew I’d seen the Poet Tree somewhere before. It was you! I should have known!
