It’s been a while since I posted any kitten pictures. Kittens? What am I saying? Waldo and Dickens will be a year old next month. I can hardly believe it. Lately Waldo has taken to bathing in the bathroom sink. He liked the sink a lot when he was smaller but soon moved on to other things. Now he is back to the sink again. I managed to capture him in all his glory.
Bath time done, he started being silly, trying to roll around in the sink. It didn’t work out very well.
But it got Dickens’ attention. Finding the sink full, he launched an attack from the closed lid of the toilet.
And just so you can see how he has grown, this was back in August of 2007 when he was four months old.
I’ll have to try and corner Dickens for a photo or two soon.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Awwww! Love the before and after pics.
Oh, how cute!
Whaaaa!
My brain is saying: Huh. Those look like main coons or Norwegian forest cats. And the “now” photos look like the “kittens” the Humane society up here was trying to get me to pay for.
The rest of me is saying:
Ooooh! Kitties! SMART looking cats, too!
Waldo looks very handsome — even if he’s in the sink.
I’m sure there are some wonderful LOLcat captions to be had here, if only I could think of them! Love the attack launch!
Several of my kitties have always liked sitting in sinks:

Cute!
I can’t believe they are already almost a year old! I just love the picture of Dickens’s rear attack.
They are so sweet! I can’t wait until the day we stop renting and can acquire some pets. Thanks for the pics!
Aww, cute kitty cats. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Too cute! My cats have never been sink sitters. You’d think it would be too cool in all that porcelain, but cats just love that half circle–they must feel safe sitting there!
A few years ago my family gave away a kitten to our contractor. The kitten was peeing on our sofas and we live on a street with a fair number of cars passing by, so it was dangerous. We’ve been out of touch with the contractor but he called last night to say that the kitten/cat was the best present he’s ever received, “kitty” (as he calls her) has been to Paris 4 times, and she’s as happy as can be. That’s my kitty story for today.
In stopping by and reading through litbloggers, I went into your Virginia Woolf category and read about the Hesperus memoir volume, which I have to go find. It was fantastic to see a post on Lady Ritchie. Talk about your “outmoded authors”! “Aunt Anny” was an interesting character in the Stephen household. Back in the day, the fact that Woolf’s father climbed the Eiger and married Thackeray’s daughter was literary catnip for me. I have a biography on Lady Ritchie somewhere on my shelves. But I can’t say I’ve read any of her books. But it’s a good subject for a post, I suppose.
If you’re doing Wilberforce and Emerson and anti-slavery (along with Woolf’s diary), you might want to get into Colonial Undersecretary James Stephen, author of Essays in Ecclesiastical Biography (including “Wilberforce” and “The Clapham Sect”), Woolf’s grandfather, and the inside man who eventually wrote the decree outlawing slavery and the slave trade in the British Empire.
My six-month old kitten (who is huge, by the way, almost bigger already as my normal-sized 3yr-old cat) loves the sink as well. Apparently it’s a very comfortable place!
He is also fascinated by moving water, whether it is water coming out of the tap or moving water in the sink or in the bathtub – he just sits and watches intently. We have already dubbed him the King of the Bathroom, because that seems to be his favorite room in the house.
I’m glad to know that our Archy is not the only sink-loving cat!
Ouch, that should read “bigger than”!
Keep an eye on the porcelain. If you notice black spots, check to see if they turn reddish when exposed to water. Sometimes cats with fleas head for porcelain or tile when they are cleaning. Cats are smart enough to know that carpets and upholstery are good places for the fleas to hide and launch counter offensives.
Hopefully, this isn’t the case for you. Probably they are just being cute. Ditto on the before-and-after-picture-cuteness comment.
