I made it onto the Book Depository! Too bad you can’t read the writing my shirt it’s my “Don’t make me use my librarian voice shirt.” And my little joke of me standing there shaking my finger at the camera doesn’t work out so well. Oh well. It was fun to do the interview.
On another note, did anybody else get the email from about The Golden Notebook project? Seven women, most of them writers, of various ages will be doing a close reading of The Golden Notebook. The project got permission from Lessing to put the full text of the book online. The readers will be conversing in the margins of the book and on a blog and there is also a public forum in case anyone else wants to read along and participate in the discussion. It’s a great idea and I wish I could read along but I’ve got too much going on at the moment.

Great interview! And thanks so much for the plug!
Love the story about Ben Franklin’s ghost with the arm-full of books!
Congratulations on the interview! And who would’ve ever thunk that the library in my former hometown (Newtown, CT) was haunted? It’s a fantastic library, though, being both a museum and a library. I loved that place.
Loved the interview! (and thank you so very much for mentioning me) I’d have left a comment at the site but for some reason the book depository blog always boots me out. I’ve seen that Doris Lessing group mentioned online as well. I loved The Golden Notebook when I read it (years ago now) and wish I had time for a reread. One of these days, maybe….
Cool interview!
Thanks so much for mentioning our project! We really appreciate it.
I read your interview over at Book Depository – how wonderful! Really neat. And I got that email about The Golden Notebook as well. I bought a copy recently and I think I may really try to read along. If at all possible…
Nice interview! Yes, I got that email too. I last read the book in college and haven’t yet had a chance to do anything about it, school is so crazy.
Thank you for the link over at the Book Depository! That was very nice
It was fun reading your interview!
Fun interview! The web is buzzing with this Golden Notebook project, it seems such a great idea! I haven’t read it but plan to follow it as much as I can.
Sylvia, thanks! The “plug” is well deserved
Emily, thanks! I wondered if you had ever been to any of the haunted CT libraries! Even though you never saw a ghost there, it must has had a subtle influence on you
Litlove, thank you. How could I mention favorite blogs and not include you? Sadly, I got about a quarter of the way through the Golden Notebook when I was about 20 and then abandoned it because I had no blessed idea what was going on. I hope to try it again one of these days.
wil, thanks!
Kirsten, glad to mention it!
Melanie, thank you! I wish I had the time to read along with the project. It’s like a world-wide Big Read or something.
ted, thanks! I know about school being crazy! Here’s to winter looking forward to break
Dorothy, thank you. Your blog is a regular read for me, always a favorite
Smithereens, thanks! The Golden Notebook is a fun buzz. I haven’t read it either but I plan on following too.
How exciting! Very cute photo (and tee-shirt)–I really enjoy reading TBD’s What on Wednesday interviews (though as usual I am behind in my reading). I’d love to read the Lessing, too, but I think I’m already plenty busy….
What a great interview and such a cute pic. I was wondering what your shirt said. I saw this t-shirt at the book festival and thought of you: http://www.buyolympia.com/q/Item=futurelibrarian_brown
And, thank you for the mention
