First of all, thank you everybody for all your kind comments and thoughts. It means a lot and has helped us feel ok and that we did the right thing.
It’s a cold rainy day here, perfect for reading but I unfortunately haven’t had much time to read between doing laundry and other chores and a visit from a friend who brought flowers and cried a little with me about Godzilla. She loved him too and has two dogs of her own who are starting to get old.
I do have something bookish to tell you about. Have you heard about the World Digital Library? I found out about it from an email at work (have I mentioned lately how much I love working in a library?). Here’s a short Yahoo! article about the library and some of the things in it. I’ve poked around in it a bit. In particular, it has some awesome maps and photos.
My task master the dryer buzzer just called. Tomorrow I will have a review of Julian Barnes’ latest.
Poor Stefanie. I’m glad your friend came over and you could have a little mourning time together. Grieving is so terribly sad and yet so good for you, so real and sensible and healing.
More hugs!
I’m glad you had a visit with a good friend. I know it can’t be easy to go through this but having a shoulder and a real hug helps a lot. Thinking of you.
I’ll second Litlove and Iliana — thank goodness for friends who can share some sympathy and help you get through this. I imagine being able to talk about it with someone who knew Godzilla must have been comforting. I hope so.
That World Digital Library IS awesome. Thanks for sharing.
