Just a quickie tonight. I am behind on my schoolwork this week because when it rains it pours. My poor Bookman came home early from work Monday evening with food poisoning. We know it was food related because he was fine all day and then within an hour after eating a bean burrito with guacamole from a fast food place at the airport where he works he got bad stomach cramps. He is finally able to eat today. He was lucky, it could have been worse.

But then to add to that he had a major post injection reaction to his MS medication last night. The reaction is a side effect, not an allergy, and he has had them before but they have always been minor and he’s felt fine within 5 – 10 minutes. I’ll spare you the details but last night was close to 40 minutes of uncontrollable violent shivering, shortness of breath, and muscle spasms that no amount of blankets or hot packs could stop. Everything is fine now, but gosh am I tired.

Finally for school this week we have begun learning about css (cascading style sheets). For some reason I was expecting it to be really hard or at least complicated and after managing to get in some reading, it isn’t that difficult at all, at least for the basics. We are also supposed to be working on image and graphics editing.

And thanks to all who made a suggestion for a final website topic for me. I was very tempted by vegan desserts but since I am not the one who knows anything about them except how to eat and enjoy them, I decided not to go with that because I can’t make my Bookman write content for me. Well I could I suppose but he could threaten to withhold chocolate chip cookies or scones or something and I would cave in to his demands. Lacking leverage, I went for a site on surviving winter in Minnesota intended for an audience new to the area from warmer climes. I’m going for useful and humorous and will include things like shopping for a winter coat, the art of layering, winter bicycling, myths, dos and don’ts, and advice on how to keep the laughter at your expense of winter hardy natives from becoming too excessive. Notice I don’t say keep people from laughing. That’s impossible. I have lived here for fifteen years and native Minnesotans still laugh at me.

On the reading front, I haven’t had much time these last few days to read except on public transit. My current book is Script and Scribble. My library finally bought and processed a copy. So far I am enjoying it very much.

Well, here’s hoping my life turns a little boring and remains so for a week or two or longer.
