That is so very cute, I would have loved to see it.
It's like you are living at Watership Down or something.
Ah, I just scrolled through the comments, litlove said a similar thing.
Rabbits have got to be the cutest animals, I suppose in the whole world [Jack just glared at me].
The only wildlife hopping around here, at the altitude I'm living at, is PIGEONS!
NOT cute!

Dorothy, I had no idea rabbits acted like that either. The things you can learn in your own backyard!

Daphne, it was funny and the rabbits are cute as long as they keep to the grass and weeds and leave the garden plants alone.

Litlove, definitely. Maybe I it's time to re-read Watership Down if I'm going to be treated to regular displays of rabbit behavior.

Iliana, the baby is the cutest. It's currently about the size of a 10-week old puppy.

Danielle, I still haven't figured out what the rabbits were doing, but I did find out they are territorial. I tried to get an action shot but I couldn't click my camera fast enough. You are lucky you don't have rabbits in your area, otherwise you might find you pretty petunias nibbled.

Carrie, LOL, better luck next time ;) And you are right. Easter is a very confusing time for rabbits and chickens.

Arti, thanks! Does your rabbit stretch out? The one in my yard sometimes does and it is amazing how long they are. We don't get deer but I've seen a raccoon and we have had a couple different kinds of hawks and falcons visit.

Just like to stop by and wish a happy July 4th to you, from your Canadian neighbor blogger. Cute bunny too. We have one that comes to our backyard and makes his/her or their own spot with a patch of grass they like to sleep on. I've even seen deers a couple of times too, but taking pictures of them would be hard to do.

litlove beat me to the reference of all things Bunny Martial, Watership Down. It does sound like an entertaining time! They were probably playing chicken due to the whole bunny/chicken confusion brought about by Easter. ;)

I am probably lucky, but I have no rabbits in my yard (I don't even see them in my neighborhood, which is sort of weird when you think about it). I've never seen rabbits behave that way. Do you think they were playing? Do rabbits play? Are they territorial? At least there was no bloodshed, which is a good thing. I would have been fascinated watching them, too. Too bad you didn't get an action shot of them jumping up--now that would be something to see! :)
