Ah, my vacation has now begun after a nail biter of a bus ride home. Picture two large buses, one going north, one going south, a street narrowed from lots and lots of snow, cars parked on both sides of the street. Now imagine those two buses trying to pass each other. Traffic backed up behind the buses so neither could reverse direction, the other bus driver was yelling at my driver to just pull straight ahead, buses inching forward ever so carefully, proximity alarms going off (did you know buses had proximity alarms? I didn’t), kids out of school standing on the six-foot high snow banks at the side of the road waiting to see a crash. The people on my bus looking at each other wide-eyed, laughing nervously, encouraging the driver and trying to somehow help. Finally, after what seemed like a very long time but was really only 15 minutes or so, the buses got past each other. We cheered our driver (it was clearly the other driver’s fault), and as we all started reaching our destinations, thanked him and cheerfully wished him a good weekend.

Now it’s on to two weeks of no school and no work. I am one of those fortunate or unfortunate folk, depending on how you look at it, who needs to plan things and who also needs to be doing things. I cannot sit idly and stare at a blank wall or watch mindless television hour after hour. I have therefore created an agenda for my vacation.

As you can see it is so packed full that I don’t know how I am going to manage it all, but there it is.

I also have a Solstice dinner to plan and cook but that is minor compared to THE AGENDA. One thing is certain, I won’t be bored. I will be sure to post regular updates on my progress.
