Is book blog world quiet lately or is it only me?
Just a short one today. Fans of Brian Selznick and enjoyers of his most recent book, Wonder Struck, might find find this 15 minute tour of the Museum of Natural History worth a view. Selznick is an oh so uncomfortable guide taking around the museum particularly to the wolf diorama and the meteorite featured in Wonder Struck. Check out the video and watch Selznick’s eyes move along as they read the teleprompter. I think I found that more amusing than the video itself.

Oh, I must watch this. I am sick again. Why. Why? This sounds perfect for today.
It’s quiet out there! Everyone’s Christmas shopping – including me the past few days. But I think I’m finally getting there. Thank you for the link, Stefanie – I will save it to watch when I’ve finished writing the cards…..
Loved The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Can’t wait to read the new one. Litlove’s right, it’s been quiet, but I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone.
wherethereisjoy, sick again? Oh no! Fell better soon1
Litlove, glad it’s just not me. I was beginning to wonder if it was something I said
Hope you enjoy the video when you get the chance.
Grad, I read Hugo Cabret because of you
Hope you like Wonder Struck when you get to it. I thought it was pretty good.
I had the most interesting experience upon turning the last page when I read Wonderstruck out loud to my class: they clapped! I’d never had that happen before, in all my 28 years of teaching. We loved it, teachers and children alike.
I’ve put this wonderful tour of the museum up for them to see; it’s truly special.
Stefanie,
This is a good idea, the video is not only a Museum Tour but a wonderful book trailer for Brian Selznick. Very educational and well made film clip. Maybe book trailers could go this route in the future, informative an educational so teachers can show them in class.
A bit quiet I think … which suits me a little because I’d hate my favourite bloggers to think I was ignoring them when the truth is that I’m just a bit busier than usual!
Bellezza, what a wondeful experience that must have been with the book! I hope all involved enjoy the video.
Arti, isn’t it a wonderful idea Scholastic had to do the video? I especially liked learning more about the wolf diorama since it depicts a scene in nothern Minnesota. I hope Scholastic does more of these and other publishers too.
whisperinggums, since I am not a Christmas celebrator, I forget how busy peope are this time of year. Perhaps I should take a cue and even though I am not busy, aspire to being a bit more casual and laid back. Hmmm.
Yes, it has indeed been quiet and I know I have fallen totally behind in everything. I’m hoping that when break comes I can get caught up once again. Wishful thinking! I expect next week blog traffic will come to a grinding hault–good time to read instead of surf methinks!
