A coworker saw that I was reading Pride and Prejudice. “Oh, that’s so sweet,” she said, “it’s nice to read old-fashioned books sometimes.” This coworker reads but I’ve only ever seen her reading books published within the last five years. How sweet.

The book list for class was released yesterday. It looks like I will be enjoying the multifarious plot lines of Developing Management Skills: What Great Managers Know and Do and the sure to be riveting tales of money to be found in Budgeting for Managers. I can hardly wait!

To counteract what I assume will be their soporific effects, I will have to carefully plan my outside of school reading from January through March to ensure I always have something exciting to lose myself in. Good thing my plan for 2009 has not yet made it past “read some good books.” That leaves me with quite a lot of flexibility.
