Even though I made good progress on my assigned reading over the weekend I still have about a third of the book to read and an (albeit short) review to write of it for the journal I am reviewing for. The book has improved, thankfully, but the reading is slow going. So no new posts until I finish the book and turn in my review. Then I’ll come back and tell you about the book and, I hope, some other fun things. I’ll still be around on the internet though, I have to get my daily fix!

STEPHANIE, 10/4 ON THE FINISHING THE BOOK FIRST! I WILL HAVE TO RETURN 4 LIBRARY BOOKS IN THE ILL PROGRAM TOMORROW. I TEND TO AGREE WITH YOU THAT THE ILL IS NOT THE BEST WAY TO GO. PERHAPS I SHOULD FOLLOW YOUR LEAD AND FINISH A BOOK BEFORE ORDERING ANOTHER. HAPPY READING!

Good thing the book has improved! Hope you are getting a lot of reading done and looking forward to the review! I need some downtime from the internet to read some books too 🙂

Iliana, I know, it is a relief the book has improved. Sometimes it’s good to take time away, I hardly ever do it, maybe I should have a regular “vacation” now and then. Hmm…

Understood! Happy to read that you and the book and still having a go at it and the experience is improved. I’ll happily wait on your return and will spend some offline time continuing to read Tallamy’s Bringing Nature Home. I was reading other gardening books but some really nice blogger who shall not be named happened to mention this one and I added it to my stack of current books. 😉

Vanessa, I am glad the book has improved too, it would not have been a pleasant thing to have to grind through. Well since I have a book you mentioned on my own pile, it’s only fair you should have one on yours too! 😉

Good luck finishing–maybe the last half will go better and smoother than the first! Under pressure reading–takes some of the pleasure out of things but hopefully you are still enjoying the experience.

Danielle, under pressure reading does take some of the pleasure out, I am always worried about not getting far enough when I sit down with the book. Tick tock, tick tock! But at least it is turning out to be an interesting read in spite of my initial grumpiness about it.

When a book gets in the way of life rather than enhancing it that is the time to ditch it!

Alex, couldn’t ditch the book because I had to review it for a library publication. but it turned out to be really good in spite of everything.
