The new issue is up! You can find me there today, Reading for Other Worlds with, I hope, fun and interesting science fiction recommendations. Most of them are older so if you are looking for something besides Station Eleven or The Martian, check it out! And don’t forget to browse all the other fun bookish goodness while you’re at it.

Very cool! Since reading the Area X Trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer my mind has been opened to a whole new world of sci-fi-ish books. I’m very much a newbie to the genre. The China Mieville one looks awesome, I’ll have to add that to the TBR.

Laila, thanks! I’ve been reluctant to read the Area X books but it seems after all is said and done that they are pretty good so I will have to give them a try sometime. The City and the City is fabulous. Mieville throws you in without much explanation so it’s hard going at first but don’t give up, it all starts to make sense eventually, promise!

For what it’s worth, I LOVED the Are X Trilogy. They hooked me from the very start. I was a huge fan of the shows LOST and X-Files, so I think I was the right kind of person to love these books. They’re really trippy and kind of creepy.

I never got into Lost but I was a huge X-files fan. Trippy and kind of creepy sounds like fun!
