I saw this on Facebook today and laughed hard: The Pride and Prejudice Workout. It’s like a drinking game only exercise. Watch P&P a lot and you could get pretty fit!

An article in my local newspaper yesterday left me scratching my head. Do English Majors Suffer More Than Most?. This is asked by a local therapist who was, surprise, an English major as an undergrad. For some reason it is assumed that all English majors want to be writers but I don’t believe that is the case at all. I majored in English and did not want to be a writer. The trouble is, I believe, there is no clear career path for those of us who major in English. But that isn’t necessarily a problem. People who major in English either plan on going into academia, trying their hand at writing, or are not all that interested in a traditional career path in the first place. Of course, I have been known to be wrong sometimes.

And in case you have not heard, The Vegetarian by Han Kang won the Man Booker International Prize. I think that is pretty awesome. I still think about the book now and then. Did you know the translator also gets a prize? That is a very happy thing because I don’t know of many prizes for translators.

Sorry for the short post. The weather is fine and finishing touches need to be made on the chicken coop so the Dashwoods can move in Saturday. Animal Control came by last night to inspect it to make sure it met all the requirements. Our permit has been approved and the inspector seemed rather impressed by our handiwork. I didn’t think there would be any problems, but it is still a relief!
