Working on a post about Amitav Ghosh but I am not going to be able to finish it tonight. My mind keeps getting distracted with election stuff. Ya’ll probably won’t have any problem figuring out who I voted for. Hopefully tomorrow all my election anxiety will be over, I’ll be happy over a shattered glass ceiling, and I will be able to concentrate on finishing writing about The Great Derangement.

Same here! Make history, write, read, or research fiction, it’s so hard to choose!

Ditto! I am trying not to go to NPR for up to date vote counts but I can’t stop. Ok, now to look at pictures of puppies or something cute to help with the anxiety! 🙂

I don’t even much know how to deal with this election. I am going to bed in a few minutes and I just need it to be over over over.

OMG. I’ve just heard the results and I am horrified. (I heard a bit of the acceptance speech but had to stop because it nauseated me.) I am so, so sorry. I don’t know what else to say.

Sad to see the glass ceiling is still intact. I’m afraid what will happen when a misogynist takes control. what kind of example does that set?

From Obama to the misogynist blowhard…..this is very hard to take. This is part of a populist right wing surge that is sweeping the world but it is important not to despair but things are going to be pretty difficult.

I don’t know if you saw Michael Moore’s piece on 5 reasons why he believed Trump was going to win which came out a couple of months ago. It is worth looking at in that it shows how this ghastly result should not perhaps come as such a surprise.

Ian, I did not catch that. I will have to go find it now to see what he said!

Stunned here too… Had a feed going this afternoon on my tablet while I was doing my volunteer job… That’s the advantage of doing volunteer work, no one can tell you you can’t look at the internet, though perhaps today I wish they had. 😢

I voted and worked the phones. Alas, the news is terrible. Lets all try to hang in there.

Isn’t it ‘funny’ here that the popular vote actually went to Hillary Clinton, but look where we end up . . . .
