Robert Jordan was born in 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he received a degree in physics. After graduating he served as an officer in the 82nd Airborne Division. In 1982 he debuted with The Eye of the World, which began his epic Wheel of Time series.Jordan passed away on September 16th 2007 due to cardiac amyloidosis.
