Mark Watney is presumed dead and left behind on Mars by his team during a manned mission to the planet. He must use his scientific knowledge and wit to survive on an inhospitable world, with little hope of rescue. Against all odds, he eventually figures out how to contact Earth and summon help. But even after he’s saved, Mark remains stranded on Mars… I absolutely loved “The Martian”! It was one of those rare books that I just couldn’t put down; I read it in about two days! The story kept me hooked from beginning to end with its mix of science, suspense, and humor. Andy Weir does an excellent job creating a believable character in Mark Watney – someone who you can root for no matter what crazy situation he finds himself in (which is quite often!). If you’re looking for an exciting sci-fi read that will keep you guessing until the very last page, then be sure to check out “The Martian”!
